Conditions/Information

Stall allocation

Set up information

Floors:

When carrying your goods in and out of the venue, please ensure that you are not dragging items across the floor. Any damage to the floor will result in the stallholder having to pay for the re-surfacing of the floor.

Your table and number:

We provide you with a trestle table and chair. Please always verify your stall number on market day via the stall allocation list which is displayed in the entrance area for your orientation. If you are not sure where your table is located, then please ask one of the staff, we are more than happy to help.

Your stall:

Your stall consists of a trestle table and chair, and space for 2 clothes racks. It is not recommended to place goods in front/under your table, as it deters shoppers from looking at your stall, and it congests the aisles.

Clothes racks:

Take Two Markets is unable to provide clothes racks. You may bring two clothes racks of your own. Ideally we suggest that you do away with the trestle table and just use clothes racks, as shoppers find this more attractive. Hawthorn Town Hall has a limited number of metal mash racks available to hang up clothes up behind your stall. These can be requested when booking your stall, pending availability.

Table cloth:

Stallholders are required to cover the trestle table with a tablecloth (or alike material).

Set up and closing time:

Stallholders are to set up from 8.30am until 9.30am. Please do not arrive before 8.30. At 9.30 am SHARP, we start re-letting stalls of those stallholders who have not arrived, to others, with no refund to the original stallholder. Stallholders must be set up and ready to trade by 9.50am and trade until 3pm. We suggest that you come as early as possible to avoid congestion. At 3pm the Market closes to the public. Stallholders are kindly asked to keep trading until 3pm and pack up between 3pm to 3.30pm.

Exit doors:

This is very important: please make sure that your items DO NOT AT ANY TIME OBSTRUCT ANY EXIT DOORS IN ANY WAY.

Shopping before 10am:

Stallholders are NOT allowed to buy from other stallholders before 10am (this includes putting items on hold until after 10am!). Shoppers queue outside before the market opens, to be able to purchase the bargain they are looking for, and it is only fair to offer them first chance of buying these items. The principle of Take Two Markets is that stallholders participate to sell and shoppers visit to buy. After 10am, stallholders are able to shop like all other customers. Please note that stallholders who are identified as shopping before 10am are at risk of loosing their stall.

On-selling of items:

It is STRICTLY PROHIBITED to buy goods from a stallholder and then on-sell it to the public at a higher price (i.e. for a profit) that market day or any other market day. This is against the principle of Take Two Markets and stallholders doing this will be asked to leave immediately.

Food and drink:

There are facilities to purchase food and drinks at Take Two Markets.

Refund policy:

50% refund up to four weeks before market date, and after that no refund. If you are unable to attend your booked market stall, you may transfer your booking to a friend/relative. You may transfer to the next market ONCE ONLY.

No item/s will be permitted to be placed against or upon and nothing will be permitted to be hung, stuck, tapped, glued, nailed, screwed or in any other way attached to, affixed or placed upon any wall, door, curtain or any other portion of the building. We are very lucky to have our market at Hawthorn Town Hall, which is one of the loveliest buildings in Boroondara. Please respect the environment.

Market cancellation:

Should a Take Two Market be cancelled due to reasons of emergency, danger, weather conditions, disasters, safety, health concerns, or other reasons that are not in reasonable control of the Take Two Market organisers (as deemed by the Take Two Market organisers), then stallholders will not receive a refund of their stall hire paid.
